The address websites see
Your public IP address is the address this website sees for your request. Your home devices may share it through a router, and a VPN or proxy may replace it with an exit address. It is different from a private address such as 192.168.1.10 used inside your local network.
Checking a VPN or proxy?
Run the check before and after connecting. A different WebRTC address can indicate another network path. Compare DNS results with the resolver your provider expects. A completed check is not a guarantee of privacy.
Why are some results inconclusive?
Browser controls, firewalls or an unavailable collector can prevent a measurement. Missing evidence does not prove protection. For CGNAT, compare your router’s WAN address on the dedicated tool; for IPv6, run the separate IPv6 test.
What information does the check use?
The full check reads local browser properties, requests WebRTC candidates using a public STUN server, and contacts the Localtonet TCP/DNS collector. Resolver addresses are shown as pseudonymous IDs. The exported report excludes full IP addresses, raw TCP timestamps and SDP.
