Expose a folder on your Windows, Linux, or macOS machine through a public HTTPS file manager.
- Download and install the Localtonet app from the download page, then keep the app running.
- Log in and open the File Server Tunnel page.
- Select a Process Type: Random Sub Domain, Custom Sub Domain, or Custom Domain.
- Select the AuthToken entered in your Localtonet app. Tokens are managed on My Tokens. Then select a Localtonet server region.
- Enter the full path of the folder to expose, such as
C:\Users\YourName\SharedFileson Windows or/srv/fileserveron Linux. Everything inside this path becomes accessible through the file manager, so use a dedicated folder rather than a broad system or user directory. - Click Start. Open the public HTTPS URL displayed next to the tunnel entry and share it with anyone who needs access.
Keep the Localtonet app running. If it closes, the public URL goes offline, but your files remain unchanged. For always-on access, configure the app to start automatically with the operating system.
